Day 1: Kigali Airport and Transfer to Akagera National Park
Upon your arrival at Kanombe airport in Kigali move to the east of the country to Akagera National Park which borders the stunning rising and falling plains, concrete broad-leafed forests and the brighter acacia woods that characterize its favorable nature to animals and visitors.
Participate in an evening game drive to spot mammals like Giraffes, Buffaloes, Elephants, Crocodiles, Hippos Spotted Hyenas and masses of birds. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge. Meal plan: Half-Board.
Day 2: Wildlife Game Drive in Akagera National Park
Dawn game drive that will expose you to more animal species that you missed the earlier evening. Return to lodge for refreshment, breakfast and lunch and then after enjoy an afternoon thrilling boat cruise on Lake Ihema during which you will reach the Rwanda crowds of hippos and crocodiles plus many water birds and a variety of Reptiles. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: Full-Board.
Day 3: From Akagera transfer back to Kigali
Take breakfast, relax, then have a simple tour of Kigali to the genocide memory centre, Karisoke gorilla research centre before being driven to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight or next destination like Uganda or Rwanda. End of our safari tour. Meal plan: Half-Board.
About Akagera Park
Akagera National Park lies in eastern Rwanda, hugging the border with Tanzania. It’s characterized by woodland, swamps, low mountains and savannah. The varied terrain shelters wildlife including zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions and hundreds of bird species, such as the rare shoebill stork. In the southern part of the park, vast Lake Ihema is home to hippos and crocodiles.
